Today our first grade class went on a field trip. We went to Lincoln Memorial Gardens. We got to learn how to make maple syrup.
We tapped a tree to start the sap coming out of it and then we got to try it. It's clear and tastes like sweet water. I didn't try it, but Mom did. I was more interested in the process rather than tasting something straight from the tree.
We also got to watch them "boil" the sap to make syrup and then tasted some. It was GOOD!!!!
